Some witnesses claim that these disappearances occur after a simple handshake or body contact with strangers. This mysterious phenomenon has raised questions about who is responsible, their motives, and the fate of those affected. Skeptics wonder if these claims are true or if they're inciting panic in the city.

The Cross River State Government has issued a statement, signed by its Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang, denying the claims. The Cross River State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ms. Irene Ugbo, also dismissed the reports as the work of mischief-makers and urged the public to go about their business without fear.

Despite these official denials, residents remain apprehensive, and there are frequent reports of uproar in different parts of the city regarding the alleged disappearances. Some locals have even resorted to carrying bitter kola and alligator pepper in their pockets or holding their private organs tightly while in public due to fear.

There are reports that these stolen organs are being sold for large sums, with prices reportedly reaching one million naira per organ due to high demand. It's believed that these organs are used for ritual purposes to generate wealth, and victims are said to meet a grim fate shortly after the theft.

Cases of these organ disappearances have been reported in various areas of Calabar, including Atimbo, Nyahasang, Moore Road, Satellite Town, Ekpo Abasi, 8 Miles, Watt Market, Atakpa/Mayne Avenue, and others.

The situation has escalated to the point where mobs have gathered to take matters into their own hands, leading to potential violence and chaos. Despite efforts to protect themselves with items like bitter kola and alligator pepper, some residents claim that these protective measures haven't been effective.

In this tense atmosphere, Calabar residents are living in fear, uncertain about the truth behind these disturbing reports of male genital organ disappearances.
