This feat comes shortly after another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, also known as Chef Dammy, recently embarked on a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, aiming to push the boundaries of culinary endurance.
Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, with an impressive time of 93 hours and 11 minutes. Her record-breaking attempt took place from May 11 to May 15, during which she prepared over 100 pots of food over the course of four days. The Guinness World Records has officially recognized Hilda Baci's achievement after conducting a comprehensive review of the evidence.
However, if Adeyeye Adeola successfully completes his planned 150-hour cook-a-thon, he will surpass Hilda Baci's record and establish a new world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Shortly after the start of the event, a Nigerian named Alakowe took to his social media page to react, stating that Chef Deo from Ile Oluji, Ondo State has commenced her 150-hour cook-a-thon to break Hilda Baci's current record. According to Alakowe, she has already cooked for 5 hours and 40 minutes.
