Chadwick Boseman, the late actor known for his iconic role as "Black Panther," will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2024. The announcement was made as part of the Walk of Fame's class of 2024 induction, specifically in the motion pictures category. Boseman, who tragically passed away from colon cancer in 2020 at the age of 43, left a lasting impact on audiences worldwide through his portrayal of the superhero king T'Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as his notable performances as Jackie Robinson and James Brown.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame, initially conceived by E.M. Stuart, the volunteer president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, in 1958, has been a significant landmark honoring achievements in the entertainment industry. This year, it paid tribute to another legendary figure, Tupac Shakur, with the unveiling of his star at a special ceremony. Shakur, selected as an honoree in 2013, was posthumously recognized, and his sister Sekyiwa "Set" Shakur accepted the award on his behalf, while radio personality Big Boy hosted the event. Shakur's star became the 2,758th addition to the Walk of Fame.

Apart from Boseman, several other notable individuals were also granted stars as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame's class of 2024. This esteemed group included Michelle Yeoh, recently awarded an Oscar, musicians Gwen Stefani and Andre Romell Young (known as "Dr. Dre"), actress Kerry Washington, and actor Chris Pine. The complete list of honorees can be found on the Walk of Fame's official website and was revealed during the live stream of Monday's announcement.

The recognition of Chadwick Boseman's contributions to the film industry with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame serves as a testament to his immense talent, cultural impact, and enduring legacy.
