Famous Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky is defying the orders of his religious leader by planning a lavish gala to honor his late father's death.
Gistreel reported the unfortunate passing of Kunle Okuneye, Bobrisky's father, a few weeks ago, on August 14.
Debola Okuneye, Bobrisky's brother, shared more details about their father's passing and funeral. "Lastborn," a close friend and coworker of the deceased, also provided insights into the circumstances surrounding the death and funeral.
The burial, following Islamic customs, took place at 4 p.m. in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, the late father's hometown.
A video of a religious leader (Alfa) warning Bobrisky against holding a memorial celebration during the funeral went viral.
Bobrisky appears to be disregarding the warning and instructions. He shared a video on his Instagram page in which he selects a head tie (gele) for the occasion.
In dedication to his father's memory, Bobrisky plans to make the burial a lavish event and has pledged to decorate Ijebu in blue and black.
"I went to Lagos Island to pick a headtie (gele) for my dad's 41-day and final burial on September 30th. All my friends, hope you are all ready to paint Ijebu Igbo blue and black."
