The Nigerian government has officially approved the construction of a private airstrip at Canaanland, the headquarters of Living Faith Church Worldwide, widely known as Winners Chapel, located in Ota, Ogun State. This significant development was announced by Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the church, during a special service, emphasizing the airstrip's importance for worshippers and visitors, particularly during large-scale events such as the annual Shiloh convention.
The new airstrip is expected to streamline travel logistics by allowing direct access to Canaanland, thus eliminating the need to navigate through major airports. This direct access is set to enhance the overall experience for church members and attendees of various events hosted at the church.
Bishop Oyedepo expressed his excitement, stating, “The federal government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland. You’re working in the centre of God’s plan, so I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can go from here to wherever I want. Members with their planes would have somewhere to land and park.” His remarks underline the church's vision for improved accessibility for its members and guests.
Furthermore, the Bishop highlighted that the project will be fully financed by the church, reflecting its commitment to self-reliance and the development of infrastructure that benefits the congregation. He emphasized that the initiative is part of the church's broader mission to enhance the facilities available to its members and to foster a more comfortable worship environment.
While the specific timeline for construction has yet to be revealed, the church has assured its members that the project will comply with all regulatory standards and safety measures to ensure a secure and efficient airstrip.
