In his tweet, he stated, "At least, 70% of pastors in Nigeria are poor. And, that’s me being conservative." He further explained that the perception of prosperity among pastors is not reflective of reality, particularly in non-Pentecostal denominations where pastors often earn less than N60,000 per month.
He shared anecdotes of pastors being posted to stations where their salaries are renegotiated downwards, sometimes to as low as N35,000 per month. He emphasized that the majority of pastors, including those in popular denominations, struggle financially, debunking the notion that pastoring is a lucrative profession in Nigeria.
Despite his willingness to share more insights, he concluded his tweet due to low battery, leaving readers with a glimpse into the financial realities faced by many pastors in Nigeria.
