Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State made an angry exit from the Osogbo central Eid ground on Wednesday due to a substandard seating arrangement that prevented him from participating in the two raka'at prayer. The incident occurred as former Senate spokesperson, Senator Ajibola Basiru, narrowly avoided being attacked by hoodlums who wanted to forcefully relocate him from his seat at the Eid ground.
Governor Ademola AdelekeSenator Basiru, accompanied by Chief Tunde Badmus, a prominent religious leader in the state, arrived at the Eid ground in the Oke-Baale area of the state capital and took their seats in the front row. However, some politicians approached the senator, asserting that he was occupying the Governor's designated space. The senator shifted to another spot on the same row, but the politicians insisted that he vacate the row for the Governor and his entourage.
Despite the controversy, Senator Basiru insisted on remaining in the row, leading to a commotion where some hoodlums caused a scene. Coincidentally, the Governor arrived at the Eid ground at that moment but was unable to leave his vehicle and proceed to his seat due to the unfolding situation.
As a result, the Governor remained in his car, unable to participate in the two raka'at prayer. Attempts to apprehend the senator were reportedly thwarted, as he and Chief Badmus left the ground after the prayer ceremony.
