A medical doctor, @yemoka on X app, shared a heartbreaking incident where a man lost his life in a stampede while attempting to buy a bag of rice valued at N10,000. The doctor reported the tragic event as the man was brought to her hospital by his wife, who unfortunately arrived late due to the absence of immediate help.

The doctor revealed that the incident occurred while people were queuing for the rice, and the man fell down. In the chaos that ensued, he was trampled by others struggling to acquire the commodity. The doctor also mentioned that, amidst the commotion, a pregnant woman was pushed into a gutter.
The doctor's tweet conveyed the sadness of the situation, stating, “A man just died in my hospital, he was stomped on after falling at the custom office trying to get rice. He was on the queue with his wife when he fell down and couldn’t get up on time which resulted in people stamping on him. So sad. Survived by very young children. Naija 😢😢”
