Xavi had initially expressed his desire to resign as Barcelona manager in the summer, but a change of heart has led to his decision to continue in the position.

The announcement, expected to be formally made by club President Joan Laporta on Thursday, was inadvertently revealed by Yuste and shared by renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Yuste stated, “Xavi trusts our project. We can do great things together. We need to win titles, we all know that. We trust Xavi for that; he’s a true Barça figure. He will be part of the new Barcelona in the new Camp Nou.”

In another statement, Romano quoted Yuste as saying, “Xavi will stay; he’s really happy. We’ve never initiated discussions with any other coach. Also, Deco trusts Xavi; that’s a guarantee.”

Xavi’s decision to prolong his tenure until the end of his contract follows extensive speculation surrounding Barcelona’s managerial position.

The 44-year-old is expected to address the media this weekend ahead of Barcelona’s fixture against Valencia on Monday night.
