South Africa secured their berth in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group E following a goalless draw with Tunisia.
Despite a slow start in the tournament, the Bafana Bafana side successfully advanced to the knockout stage, surpassing Namibia, who finished 3rd with an identical point tally.
Conversely, Tunisia experienced a challenging journey in the group, registering no victories and accumulating only two points in three games. They drew against Mali in their second group stage match after suffering an initial defeat to Namibia.
South Africa now joins group leaders Mali, who also played to a goalless draw against Namibia in the Wednesday evening clash, while Namibia's advancement hopes remain uncertain.
The AFCON round of 16 is set to commence on Saturday, with Nigeria's Super Eagles gearing up to face the indomitable Lions of Cameroon at 9:00 PM.
