Nigerian athlete, Tobi Amusan displayed her dominance in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League, effortlessly surpassing her competitors.

The talented athlete, hailing from Ogun State, claimed victory in the hurdles event held at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm, clocking an impressive time of 12.52 seconds.

Tobi Amusan secured first place in the 100m hurdles at the Stockholm Diamond League, leaving Sarah Lavin of Ireland in second position with a personal best time of 12.73 seconds, while Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland finished third with a time of 12.78 seconds.

Amusan's time in Stockholm was slightly slower than her performance in Lausanne, Switzerland, on June 30, where she clocked 12.45 seconds to secure second place, trailing behind Jasmine Camacho-Quinn from Puerto Rico, who set a meet record of 12.40 seconds.


Amusan had an exceptional 2022 season, delivering outstanding performances at the Diamond League, Commonwealth Games, and World Athletics Championships. She became the first Nigerian world champion, achieving a wind-aided time of 12.06 seconds in the 100m hurdles (not eligible for a world record due to the strong +2.5 meters per second wind). She also secured the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and successfully defended her Diamond League title, concluding her season on a high note.
