Nigerian athlete Tobi Amusan has etched her name in history by securing her third consecutive Diamond League championship title in the women's 100m hurdles event at the Eugene Diamond League.
Despite losing her world title just a month ago in Budapest, Hungary, Amusan made a triumphant comeback, displaying her prowess by defeating strong contenders like Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Keni Harrison, and Danielle Williams.
The 26-year-old athlete crossed the finish line with a remarkable season's best time of 12.33 seconds, solidifying her victory.
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, representing Puerto Rico, secured the second spot with a time of 12.38 seconds, while Keni Harrison from the United States of America claimed the third position, clocking in at 12.44 seconds.
Tobi Amusan's achievement places her in an exclusive club, making her the second woman to win the 100m hurdles event in the Diamond League for three consecutive years. This remarkable feat matches the accomplishment of Dawn Harper-Nelson, who achieved this milestone in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
In another notable achievement for Nigeria, Ese Brume secured the second position in the Long Jump event, finishing just behind Serbia's Ivana Vuleta, adding to Nigeria's successes at the Eugene Diamond League.
