The team’s media officer, Babafemi Raji, made the announcement Wednesday morning, confirming the arrival of several key players in the camp.

The list of players includes Francis Uzoho, Tyronne Ebuehi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Jordan Torunarigha, Kenneth Omeruo, Semi Ajayi, and Calvin Bassey.

Others are Chidozie Awaziem, Bruno Onyemaechi, Leicester City’s midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, and Joe Aribo.

Fulham’s forward Alex Iwobi also made the early flight, including Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, Umar Sadiq, Terem Moffi, Victor Boniface, and Napoli star Victor Osimhen.

However, some players, including Frank Onyeka and Kelechi Iheanacho, have been delayed due to visa issues, but their travel documents have since been sorted, according to Raji.

Additionally, new invitee Fisayo Dele-Bashiru had to reroute his ticket and is expected to join the squad as soon as possible.

Adeleye Adebayo, on the other hand, is working on securing a flight out of Israel amidst the ongoing crisis.

The team’s spokesperson, Raji, further explained that a few members of the contingent from Nigeria are awaiting visas, and once those are granted, they will join the squad in Portugal.

The Super Eagles have planned gym sessions and training sessions to prepare for the friendly matches.

They will first face Saudi Arabia on Friday, October 13, before taking on Mozambique on Monday, October 16.

These friendly games serve as part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
