This remarkable accomplishment was sealed with a 2-1 victory over Augsburg on Matchday 34, concluding the 2023/24 Bundesliga season with an impressive record of 28 wins and six draws.

Nigerian football sensation Victor Boniface initiated the scoring for Xabi Alonso’s side with a goal in the 12th minute of the match.

Shortly after, Robert Andrich extended the lead with another goal at the BayArena, solidifying Bayer Leverkusen's dominance in the first 45 minutes of play.

Despite Augsburg managing to pull one goal back through Mert Komur in the second half, they were unable to capitalize on their chances for a significant upset.

Moreover, Leverkusen’s extraordinary campaign extends far beyond the Bundesliga arena.

The team has set a new European record with an unbeaten streak of 51 games across all competitions.

Their journey towards this historic milestone commenced by surpassing Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich, with Leverkusen achieving 33 consecutive unbeaten games, culminating in a victory over Mainz on Matchday 23.

Further milestones include reaching the 40-game unbeaten mark with a triumph against Fortuna Düsseldorf in the DFB Cup semi-final.

Additionally, Leverkusen established a new Bundesliga record for the longest unbeaten start to a league campaign by defeating Union Berlin on Matchday 28.

Their Bundesliga title was clinched with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen on Matchday 29, marking the club’s first Bundesliga championship.

In total, Leverkusen has secured victory in 42 out of 51 matches this season, with nine draws and only one match ending goalless (0-0 against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 19).

They stand as the sole team across Europe's top five leagues yet to suffer defeat in the 2023/24 season.

Their quest for a treble commences with the Europa League final against Atalanta on May 22, followed by the DFB Cup final against Kaiserslautern on the 25th.
