Brazilian winger and former Chelsea and Arsenal player, Willian, has reportedly undergone a medical examination in preparation for a potential move to Nottingham Forest. The 34-year-old experienced a successful season with Fulham but turned down their offer of a one-year contract extension. While Fulham made an improved offer, Willian has engaged in discussions with Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper and has wasted no time in completing his medical assessment.

Sources indicate that Willian's representatives also approached his former club, Chelsea, after negotiations with Fulham fell through. However, Chelsea declined the opportunity as they have chosen to pursue a different direction. If Willian opts for Nottingham Forest, he is expected to sign a lucrative contract and may have the option to conclude his career in Greece with Forest's sister club, Olympiacos. Additionally, should the deal materialize, he would become Forest's first signing of the summer transfer window.

During the 2022-23 season, the seasoned veteran made 30 appearances for Fulham, contributing five goals and six assists. Throughout his career, Willian has achieved notable success, winning the Premier League twice with Chelsea, the UEFA Cup in 2009 with Shakhtar Donetsk, and the Europa League a decade later under manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. He has also represented the Brazilian national team, earning 70 caps and scoring nine goals between 2011 and 2019, including a goal during their Copa America triumph in the late 2010s.

Fulham pleasantly surprised many by finishing in the top half of the Premier League table during their return to the English top-flight. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest secured their Premier League status with a 16th-place finish, narrowly avoiding relegation, making this potential transfer an intriguing development in the upcoming season.
