Victor Osimhen’s stellar performance couldn't secure a win for Francesco Calzona’s Napoli, as they were held to a 1-1 draw away against Cagliari. The intense match saw Zito Luvumbo's late equalizer denying Napoli the full three points.
In their first game under new coach Calzona, Napoli, with Osimhen partnering Giacomo Raspadori up front, started positively. Despite their efforts, Cagliari seemed to take the lead when Amir Rrahmani scored an own goal from Gianluca Gaetano’s free kick, but it was later disallowed for offside.
Despite the setback, Napoli fought back and secured the lead through Osimhen’s diving header. However, they couldn't maintain it as Luvumbo equalized in stoppage time with a fine finish.
The draw poses a challenge for Napoli in their pursuit of European qualification, while Cagliari secures a satisfying result.
