In a statement confirming Skriniar's departure, Inter Milan expressed gratitude for his contributions to the team over the past six seasons. They highlighted his role in the club's remarkable growth, which included their return to the Champions League in 2018 and the subsequent triumph in various competitions, including a Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and two Italian Super Cups. Skriniar made 246 appearances and scored 11 goals during his time with the Nerazzurri.

Due to a spinal surgery and subsequent recovery, Skriniar has been sidelined since March and did not participate in the thrilling conclusion of Inter Milan's season, which included a victory over city rivals AC Milan in the Champions League semi-final.

Relations between Skriniar and the club had become strained earlier in the year. Inter Milan was unsuccessful in selling him to PSG during the January transfer window, and in February, he was stripped of the captaincy after refusing to renew his contract.

It is anticipated that Skriniar will soon finalize his move to PSG, where he will join forces with Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe in the central defense. After spending six seasons with Inter Milan, Skriniar is set to embark on a new chapter in his career.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan is said to have already identified potential replacements for Skriniar, with Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina being among the names linked to a move to San Siro.
