After rejecting three previous bids from Manchester United, Chelsea eventually agreed to the transfer, which will see them receive a fixed fee of £55 million, with the potential for an additional £5 million based on appearances and success.

In terms of wages, Mount stands to earn at least £78 million if he remains at Old Trafford for the duration of his contract. His weekly salary will be £250,000, with the possibility of earning up to £300,000 per week through various bonuses.

Mount becomes the first signing for Manchester United under the management of Erik ten Hag, who is looking to strengthen the team following their qualification for the upcoming Champions League season.

Initially, Manchester United believed a £50 million fee would be sufficient to secure the services of Mason Mount, but they are pleased with the agreed terms. If the add-ons are triggered, it will signify the fulfillment of their on-field objectives.

Chelsea had initially valued Mount at £70 million, but they wanted the situation resolved before head coach Mauricio Pochettino officially began his work on Monday. The players are scheduled to return for pre-season training on Tuesday, July 4.

Following the agreement, Mason Mount will undergo a medical examination and sign a five-year contract with Manchester United. The contract also includes an option for an additional 12 months, potentially extending his stay until the age of 30. Personal terms are not expected to be a hurdle in the process.

Mount, who has been with Chelsea since the age of six, has made 195 appearances for the club and scored 33 goals. He played a crucial role in Chelsea's triumph in the Champions League, providing an assist for Kai Havertz's winning goal. Mount has also won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup and was named Chelsea's player of the year in consecutive seasons.
