Chelsea fans will be used to gaining an automatic bye to the third round of the EFL Cup, having played European football in 19 of the past 20 seasons on Joyloaded live stream.
However, just like in 2016/17, they will have to fight for their place amongst the Premier League big boys, starting out in the second round. The Blues had a difficAult start to life under Mauricio Pochettino, drawing their opening match against Liverpool and losing to West Ham United,
but they will be hoping they have finally found their feet. Last week, Chelsea got their first win of the Pochettino era with a 3-0 victory over Luton and will be looking to build on that now.
Wimbledon, meanwhile, will be hoping to reach the third round of the EFL Cup for just the second time since their reform in 2002. That run came just two years ago as they beat Charlton and Northampton before succumbing to Premier League side Arsenal. It’s been a good start to the League Two season for Wimbledon too, unbeaten in five games (two wins and three draws) alongside their EFL Cup first round win over Coventry City.
