Football legend, Jay-Jay Okocha, recently gave his opinion on how much he would be worth in today's football transfer market, stating that he would cost around €150m if clubs were to employ his skills. The former Fenerbahçe player made this statement in an interview with hurriyet while reacting to the huge amounts of money football clubs are currently paying to acquire players.
According to Jay Jay, if he were to estimate his worth based on the current transfer market, clubs would be paying millions of euros to acquire him. He stated, "Maybe 1 billion should have been paid for me. They paid £106m for their defensive midfielder Chelsea. To a player from Portugal. I would have cost around €150m. My assists, dribbles… World football started to pay a lot of money. Such would be the numbers of players of this quality."
In addition to his comments on his value in the current transfer market, the former Nigerian international also spoke on how much he misses Fenerbahçe, the club where he spent four seasons.
