Cameroon kicked off their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign with a 1-1 draw against a formidable Guinea side in an action-packed match at the Stade Charles Konan Banny.
The Indomitable Lions found themselves trailing early, conceding a goal in the 10th minute courtesy of Mohamed Bayo. However, Guinea's fortunes took a turn just before half-time when Francois Kamano received a straight red card, reducing them to 10 men.
Seizing the advantage, Cameroon leveled the score just six minutes into the second half, courtesy of a goal by Frank Magri.
Despite having the momentum to secure a comeback, the Cameroonians faced a resilient Guinea side and ultimately settled for a 1-1 draw, sharing equal points with their opponent.
It's worth noting that in an earlier fixture, Senegal asserted their dominance as Africa's premier team with a convincing 3-0 victory over Gambia, securing their position at the top of Group C.
