Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray is confirmed, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Nigerian star forward is on his way to Istanbul to finalize his medical and be officially announced as a new Galatasaray player on a season-long loan from Napoli.
Footage circulating on social media shows Galatasaray fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the African Best Player, with a large turnout at the airport to welcome him.
Ilkay Gündoğan, who recently returned to Manchester City, also joined in the excitement. Gündoğan shared his enthusiasm in a post by Romano, expressing his amazement with the words, “Wow… Crazy,” accompanied by emojis of surprise, the Nigerian flag, and Galatasaray’s colors – yellow and red.

Galatasaray had also prepared for Osimhen’s arrival by posting images of his mask even before he landed, and tracking his flight to Istanbul on their X page.
According to Romano, all necessary documents have been approved, including Osimhen’s conditions for the transfer. The Napoli ace striker negotiated a reduction in his release clause from €130 million to €75 million as part of the move. Additionally, he was required to accept a contract extension with Napoli until 2027, which allows the club to negotiate better terms for a future permanent transfer if necessary.
Osimhen’s loan move to Galatasaray will run until June 2025, with the club covering his salary, which is reportedly between €9-10 million.
