Newcastle United have officially confirmed the permanent acquisition of 19-year-old defender Lewis Hall from Chelsea, following a successful loan stint.

Hall, a full-back, has committed to a long-term contract at St. James’ Park after impressing with 22 appearances and two goals during the 2023-24 season for the Magpies.

His debut for Newcastle came in a notable 8-0 victory against Sheffield United in September 2023.

“I am extremely proud to be able to build on last season and continue my journey at Newcastle United,” expressed Hall.

“The fans, the manager, my teammates, and everyone at the club have made me feel so welcome that I want to repay the faith they’ve shown in me.

“Playing in front of the best supporters in the country is extra special for me being a Toon fan.

“I gained a lot of experience last season, and with the squad we have, we’ll be looking to push on even further this season. I can’t wait to get started,” he added.

Hall initially joined Chelsea's Academy at the age of Under-8, progressing through the ranks.

He signed his first scholarship with Chelsea in the summer of 2021, followed by regular appearances for the club’s under-18s and Under-21s, leading to his first-team debut.

Hall made a significant impact as a substitute in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Brentford in December 2021, followed by his full debut against Chesterfield in the FA Cup two weeks later.
