Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola responds to speculations linking Erling Haaland with a potential transfer to Real Madrid.
Haaland's recent return from injury has stirred rumors in Spain regarding his alleged dissatisfaction with Manchester City and his interest in joining La Liga giants Real Madrid.
During a press conference ahead of City’s match against Brentford, Guardiola addressed the speculation surrounding Haaland’s future. When asked about the reports, Guardiola stated, “You have to ask the media from Madrid, maybe they have more information than we have. We don’t have that feeling.”
Guardiola clarified that Haaland's two-month absence due to injury should not be misinterpreted as a sign of discontent with the club. He added, “He could not play for two months because he was injured, but maybe the media from Spain, and especially Madrid, have more information than us.”
Emphasizing Haaland's adaptability and positive contribution since his arrival, Guardiola stated, “We cannot say he didn’t adapt quickly and he was not fine since he arrived. It’s the level he showed since he arrived on day one.”
Guardiola reiterated that they cannot control media speculation and highlighted, “We cannot control what people say. When he (Haaland) is unhappy, he will take his decision.”
