Spain clinched their spot in Euro 2024 with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Norway, and the credit goes to Gavi, the Barcelona midfielder who played a pivotal role in securing their place in the upcoming tournament set to take place in Germany next year.
La Roja sealed their qualification with two remaining qualifying games scheduled for November. In Group A, their counterparts, Scotland, have also secured their ticket to the tournament.
The second half started with Norway fighting to put up an impression and possibly win the match to boost their own qualification hopes. However, it was Gavi who came through with a spoiler, firing home from close range.
Despite the goal, Norway made a late push to salvage the game, but their star player, Erling Haaland, was denied an opportunity in the final minutes.
Spain will face Cyprus and Georgia in November, as they now lead Scotland on goal difference in the Euro Group A qualifiers.
