Napoli and Galatasaray are reportedly nearing the completion of a significant season-long loan agreement for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
The deal, which has been in advanced stages of negotiations, was confirmed by Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna, who stated, “We are close to an agreement,” signaling the imminent finalization of the transfer.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, the discussions between the two clubs have progressed rapidly, with both sides agreeing on a dry loan arrangement. This means that Osimhen would be loaned to the Turkish side without an option for Galatasaray to purchase him outright at the end of the loan period.
As part of the deal, Galatasaray is expected to cover Osimhen’s full salary, which amounts to nearly €11 million per season, making it a significant financial commitment for the Turkish club.
Sources from Football Italia have reported that representatives from Galatasaray are already in Naples to finalize the necessary paperwork, with the goal of completing the deal as soon as tonight.
This move follows a period of tension between Osimhen and Napoli, which culminated in the striker being excluded from the club’s Serie A squad. The breakdown in relations between the player and the club has been dramatic, leading to his desire to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Osimhen, who had expressed his intention to leave Napoli several months ago, is reportedly enthusiastic about the prospect of joining Galatasaray, especially given the alternative of remaining sidelined until the January transfer window. This loan move would provide him with the chance to continue playing at a high level and potentially restore his form in a new environment.
