Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has strongly reaffirmed his belief that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not only participate in the 2027 presidential election but will also emerge victorious by a wide margin. According to him, the confidence and political structure of the current administration make it impossible for opposition predictions of Tinubu’s defeat to materialize.

Wike dismissed the claims made by critics that Tinubu would finish in third place during the 2027 polls, describing such forecasts as both unfounded and misleading. He insisted that those who make such projections are only engaging in wishful thinking rather than factual analysis.

“My friend goofed completely. Since you know Tinubu will come third, why not also mention who will come first and second? Which run-off election are we even talking about? Who is running against who? It cannot happen. I will go as far as placing a bet that if Tinubu decides to contest again, he will not just win but win squarely without any question,” Wike declared with confidence.

The FCT minister further criticized opposition leaders for what he described as an obsession with making excuses instead of working towards practical solutions and real strategies that could appeal to the electorate. He noted that it was time to move past empty predictions and channel more effort into building strong political platforms.

“Tell me which election in Nigeria has ever been free from accusations. Mention just one. Apart from Goodluck Jonathan, who chose to concede defeat honorably, every other election has been followed by endless complaints. I don’t like excuses. What I cannot do, I will simply admit is not possible. But people must stop using excuses as a political weapon,” Wike explained further.

He stressed that the focus for politicians should be on concrete plans, clear campaign messages, and connecting with the people rather than continuously disputing election outcomes years ahead of time. According to him, Nigerian politics requires determination, not speculation, and those who are serious should start preparing now rather than undermining the democratic process.

In conclusion, Wike emphasized that leadership is about courage, confidence, and delivery, and he believes Tinubu has shown these qualities. He urged Nigerians to look beyond political rhetoric and instead evaluate politicians by their ability to deliver results, reminding the opposition that only hard work and people-oriented strategies can secure electoral victory.
