Recalling the harrowing experience, Wike disclosed that he was urgently flown to Beirut, where medical professionals informed him that his liver and kidneys had ceased functioning. At that moment, suspicion fell upon those around him. The former governor acknowledged the divine intervention and the efforts of doctors that ultimately saved his life.

Reflecting on the tumultuous journey to his political ascendancy in 2015, Wike emphasized that divine intervention had played a crucial role in his success. He also shed light on the challenges faced while in office, noting that many assume politicians have it easy without considering their personal struggles.

Recounting the specific events of December 2018, Wike shared that he was scheduled to attend a Thanksgiving celebration organized by his former Chief of Staff. However, starting from that Sunday, he found himself confined to his room due to deteriorating health. The situation took a turn for the worse, leaving him bedridden and unable to participate in the January 1 state banquet of 2019. On that occasion, he delegated the deputy governor to speak on his behalf, unaware of the poisoning that had occurred at the party's secretariat.

Grateful for the subsequent treatments he received, Wike expressed his relief when the doctors informed him that his organs had begun functioning once again. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks and challenges faced by those in positions of power, even as they carry out their duties in service of the people.
