The president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Mr. Peter Obi both sent their congratulations to Israel Adesanya for winning his UFC middleweight belt title in the Ultimate Fighting Championship 287 after knocking out his opponent, Alex Pereira, on Sunday 9th of April.
Despite Adesanya's earlier attempts to win the title, Tinubu and Obi commended his perseverance and determination to reclaim it.

Similarly, Peter Obi also congratulated Adesanya, emphasizing that his victory proves that persistence is the path to reclamation. "By decisively knocking out his opponent and regaining his UFC Middleweight Title last night, Israel Adesanya @stylebender proved that persistence is the path to reclamation. Congratulations valiant Champion!... – PO," he said.
The two politicians celebrated Adesanya's win as a significant achievement, showing that Nigerians can excel in various fields, including sports.
