During the visit, Tinubu expressed profound sorrow over Governor Akeredolu's passing, acknowledging the significant void left by his death, which he described as immensely challenging to fill.

The Paramount ruler of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, welcomed Tinubu during the visit. Tinubu also extended condolences to the people of the state for the loss of their former governor.

Throughout his visit, Tinubu paid respects to the late governor's family and also visited Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the national leader of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Political Group, Afenifere.

Addressing the gathering, Tinubu remarked that the departed governor's legacy would endure forever, emphasizing the honorable nature of departing when the ovation is loudest.

“This sentiment should inspire us to live each day with purpose, to pursue our goals with determination, and to leave behind a legacy that will be remembered fondly by those whose lives we have touched,” stated Tinubu.

He acknowledged Governor Akeredolu's courage and fearlessness, particularly in his unwavering commitment to good governance, describing him as a fearless fighter.
