Some alleged internet fraudsters, a.k.a Yahoo boys, have protested their constant arrest by security personnel.
The suspected Yahoo boys blocked the Osogbo/Ilesha expressway of the state.
It was reported that the suspected fraudsters stormed the Ilesa West Local Government Secretariat, Ilesha making a bonfire on the roads, causing gridlock along the expressway.
The bonfire was created exactly along the entrance of the Ilesha Council office.
Newsmen gathered that the protesters were speaking against their constant arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The protesters alleged that the EFCC officials raided the hotel they lodged in and arrested some of them.
The road blockage has left many motorists using the route stranded, while others who are familiar with the road have sought alternative routes.
Recall that the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been vested with the responsibility by the Federal Government to arrest and lawfully prosecute any suspected internet fraudsters following the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, who was using their office to extort, maim, and harras any youths with unpleasant looks.
The CBN has ban cryptocurrency, holding that it’s used mostly by fraudsters to dope innocent citizens.
While some applaud the apex bank’s move, others kicked against it, saying it’s the right step in the wrong direction.
