The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore [/b]for the 2023 general elections, has rejected an apology made by President Muhammadu Buhari as his administration comes to a close. Nigerians received Buhari's request for forgiveness on Friday, particularly those who may have been harmed while he carried out his duties. However, in response to Buhari’s apology, Sowore listed reasons why the President might never be absolved. He noted that the president’s policies not only harmed Nigeria but also dehumanized its citizens. Sowore claimed that President Buhari’s wrongdoings would follow him for the rest of his life, and that his administration had caused great harm to Nigerians, including the destruction of businesses and innocent lives, as well as religious and ethnic divisions. Sowore also accused Buhari of unjustly detaining and imprisoning many, encouraging violence where he couldn't carry it out himself, and creating division through religious bigotry and ethnicity. Sowore concluded his statement by saying that Buhari and his administration's tenure and the harm they caused would continue to haunt them until the end of time.
