The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has expressed admiration for Air Peace CEO, Allen Onyema, for his offer to evacuate stranded Nigerians from Sudan. The offer was made on Monday in a statement by the business mogul, who said he would send out his planes to bring the Nigerians home if they could be moved to a safe airport in any of the North-East countries.

He went on to say that such acts of generosity towards fellow countrymen and women demonstrate the importance of Nigerian unity. "My warmest felicitations and appreciation to the Chairman of AirPeace, Mr. Allen Onyema @Ifeallenonyema, for his gracious act of altruism in helping with plans to airlift distressed and stranded Nigerians from war-torn Sudan," Obi said in his statement. "Thank you once again for your patriotism and for helping our nation in its time of difficulty. Your consistent efforts in promoting national interest and cohesion are exemplary."Obi went on to say that Onyema's selflessness serves as a reminder of the need for greater unity among Nigerians, regardless of their tribal or religious affiliations. "May your various noble gestures serve as instructive lessons to our people, that acts of nation-building by patriotic citizens come in different strands," he said. "Those who can make meaningful contributions must be ready to do so selflessly. God bless you and God bless Nigeria."
