The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is currently facing extensive backlash after his comments on the ongoing legal controversy involving the popular lifestyle influencer, Bobrisky, attracted widespread public attention.
Peter Obi shared his perspective on the matter during his appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, a platform hosted by well-known media personality Nedu Wazobia. His remarks have ignited heated discussions across social media as he touched upon the nation’s focus on individuals like Bobrisky, questioning why such matters dominate the public’s attention amidst significant national issues.
Obi commented on the recent controversies involving Bobrisky and figures like Verydarkman, the Falanas, and institutions such as the EFCC and the Nigerian Correctional Service, noting that these issues have incited intense public reaction.
However, rather than diving into the controversies, the politician questioned why the nation gives so much attention to such topics when there are more pressing national concerns.
In a humorous moment, he joked that if laws were implemented favouring women, some Bobrisky critics might resort to crossdressing to cope.
“These are entertainers that should not be put into politics. If tomorrow, our government says fuel is N800 for men and N400 for women, I can tell you the number of men that will wear female dress will surprise you,” he stated partly.
His comment, however, struck a cord among social media users who suggested he approves of Bobrisky’s allegations.
