Okorocha conveyed his thoughts to reporters at his Spilbat residence in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, just three days after his convoy was attacked by armed assailants, resulting in the death of a police officer. He asserted that the state's security situation has become increasingly alarming.

The former governor outlined his plan to write a letter to Governor Uzodinma, urging him to convene a meeting of all former governors of Imo State. The objective of this gathering would be to collectively find a lasting solution to the security problems faced by the state.

Okorocha emphasized that political power holds no significance if the populace does not experience the benefits of democracy. Drawing from his experience as governor for eight years, he stated that he dealt with the diverse array of individuals residing in the state, navigating through both positive and negative circumstances.

Addressing the tragic incident involving the slain police officer, Okorocha expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Enugu State government, and the Inspector General of Police. He expressed his intention to visit the officer's family and take further action from there. The officer was reportedly sent by the Enugu State government to accompany Okorocha to the burial ceremony of Ihedioha's mother.

Okorocha concluded by highlighting his primary motive for reaching out to Governor Uzodinma. He stated that his concern lies in the security and welfare of Imo State, asserting that his intentions transcend party politics. As a former governor of the state, Okorocha believed he had valuable insights to share with Uzodinma. Similarly, he acknowledged that Achike Udenwa and Ikedi Ohakim, as former governors, possessed information that could prove beneficial. Okorocha emphasized the significance of utilizing collective knowledge and experiences to address the security challenges, reiterating that the success of any government hinges on the happiness and well-being of its people.
