The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, asserted on Tuesday his resolve to swiftly address the insecurity plaguing the South East region upon his potential release from detention.
Kanu expressed confidence that he could quell the unrest within a mere two minutes if granted freedom, emphasizing his authority over matters of security in the South East.
In his statement, Kanu implicated certain individuals in government, alleging their complicity in profiting from the ongoing insecurity in the region and accusing them of sponsoring violence.
He declared, “Some People In government are making money from the insecurity happening in the Southeast. They’re sponsoring the bloodbath."
Kanu also issued a stern warning to those involved in violence, asserting that anyone found guilty of perpetrating crimes in the name of IPOB would face consequences, emphasizing his dedication to maintaining peace in the region.
He further stated, “Anybody committing a crime cannot go free. I swear it. Anybody committing a crime in the East cannot go free. They are doing it because I am in the DSS (custody).
“Anybody involved in any form of violence in the South East in the name of IPOB is a goner and they know it. Let me come out of this mess, only two minutes there will be peace in the East.”
Prior to this declaration, Justice Binta Nyako had rejected Kanu’s application for bail.
