Honorable Alex Ikwechegh has found himself at the center of controversy after being slammed with a petition for allegedly assaulting a Bolt driver. The well-known critic, Verydarkman, has also become involved in the situation, shedding light on the unfolding issue and advocating for the driver.
The controversy began following the emergence of a viral video that showed Honorable Alex threatening to kill the driver during a delivery incident at his residence in Maitama, Abuja. This alarming altercation has sparked outrage and raised questions about the conduct of public officials.[/p>
In a video shared by Verydarkman on his Instagram page, he linked up with the assaulted driver where he gave an account of what transpired with the House of Reps—member representing Aba North & South Federal Constituency.
According to the driver, he spotted Alex Ikwechegh sitting outside his home and his attempt to exchange pleasantries was ignored, hence, the need to call to confirm the receiver.
However, the honorable lost his cool after the driver called his phone, asking him to pick up his delivery, leading to the actions in the viral video and his arrest.
Captioning the video, Verydarkman condemned the politician’s approach, tagging it as harassment and vowed to take up the matter.
He wrote, “I have found the Bolt driver who was assaulted by the honorable member who claimed to be a senator, Mr. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh. The Bolt driver revealed that he was taken to the police station and kept behind the counter until early this morning.
“He also said his car was seized by the police and is still in their possession. He disclosed that even in the presence of the police, the honorable member insulted him further, yet no action was taken. In fact, the honorable member was allowed to go home, and the IPO began harassing the driver, questioning why he posted the video online. This is unjust; we are all Nigerians.”
In a follow-up post, he shared a petition against the Honorable Alex Ikwechegh for abuse, assault, abuse of power and attempted murder.
