[p]A tragic incident has struck the All Progressives Congress (APC) as three party members from Imo State lost their lives in a devastating road accident while en route to Abuja for the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly. The unfortunate accident claimed their lives, leaving behind a profound sense of loss within the party.
The ill-fated journey was intended to support Patrick Ndubueze, the Senator-elect for Okigwe Zone, and Miriam Onuoha of Okigwe North Federal Constituency, as they took part in the momentous inauguration. Tragically, their hopes and aspirations were shattered by the untimely accident.

However, what was supposed to be a journey filled with celebration and support turned into a devastating tragedy. The bus carrying the party members collided head-on with another vehicle along Agbor Road in Delta State in the early hours of Monday, June 12, resulting in the loss of lives.
In addition to the fatalities, several others sustained injuries in the accident and were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. The deceased individuals, two males from Amaraku and a woman from Ogbor, all hail from the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
Cajetan Duke, the spokesperson of the APC in Imo State, expressed deep sadness over the incident, describing it as a tragic development. He conveyed the party's heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, stating, "It is a sad development. The party is saddened by the development. We pray God accepts their souls."
