EWCA calls on President Tinubu to combat corruption and revive the economy

During the installation of the Evangelical Church Winning All's (ECWA) General Secretary and board of trustees, Rev. Stephen Baba-Panya, the President of ECWA, advised President Tinubu to tackle corruption and revive the economy for a better Nigeria.

Rev. Baba-Panya emphasized the importance of addressing corruption and insecurity, stating that Nigeria's progress hinges on these issues.

He urged President Tinubu to prioritize merit and equity in decision-making, particularly in the security sector.

In his speech, Prof. Samuel Kunhiyop, the guest speaker at the event, highlighted the significance of good leadership, emphasizing accountability and healthy interpersonal relationships.

The newly appointed General Secretary and board of trustees were charged with fulfilling their responsibilities to the best of their abilities, following God's calling.

Prof. Kunhiyop also urged the newly appointed Church council members to avoid behaviors that hinder positive human interactions, such as pride, abuse of power, and desperation, while promoting teamwork.

The outgoing General Secretary, Rev. Yunusa Nmadu, stated that during his tenure, ECWA established a bylaw, upheld the rule of law, and maintained a zero-tolerance policy for corruption.

Rev. Nmadu assured his successor of his unwavering commitment to strengthening the Church further.

The newly appointed General Secretary, Rev. Ayuba Asheshe, expressed his appointment as a call to service and emphasized his focus on unifying the Church.

According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), the two members of the board of trustees are Rev. Michael Adamu for ECWA Zone 2 and Retired Rev. Isaac Laudarji for ECWA Zone 6.
