Dowen College has asked students to stay at home for two days following the tragic death of one of their students, Sylvester Oromoni.
It was alleged that the 12-year-old died after he was allegedly beaten and tortured by a group of students for refusing to join their cult.
The school released a statement denying the claims and yesterday the family of the deceased released a video to backup their allegation that he was tortured to death in the school by other students for refusing to join a cult.
The video sparked outrage on social media with concerned Nigerians calling for the closure of the school till investigations have been completed.
A snapshot of a mail that was addressed to parents shows that the school has asked students to stay home today, December 3, and on Monday December 6.
The school will resume after for students to wrote their exams next week.
