In the message as delivered by the former minister of information and national orientation, Lai Mohammed, [/b]the former president described the deceased as “a gem and a rising star. He has passed away, and it is very saddening.” This heartfelt expression reflects the high regard in which Richard was held and the impact he had on those around him.

 

Buhari urged the grieving mother and family to take solace and comfort in the outpouring of love and respect from all who admired the late Richard. The delegation, led by Lai Mohammed, was made up of notable former ministers, including the former ministers of Power, Engineer Abubakar Aliyu; Environment, Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi; Power (State), Jedy Agba; Niger Delta, Umana Umana; and Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo.
