Mr. Ayodeji Oritedi, a gubernatorial aspirant from the APC in Ondo State, has officially declared his withdrawal from the race, announcing his decision to throw his support behind Chief Olusola Oke, a prominent contender for the party's ticket. This development was disclosed at the APC secretariat in Akure on Monday, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Them moment Oritedi stepped down for Oke

Oritedi further revealed his decision to merge his campaign structure into the Olusola Oke Campaign Organisation (OOCA). Speaking with journalists in Akure on Tuesday, Oritedi explained that his support for Oke stemmed from the aspiration to pave a new path for the state towards greatness.

He emphasized the necessity for synergy to realize the dreams of the state's forefathers, asserting that Oke's vision for Ondo State aligned with his own mission. Oritedi stated, “We need a new path for Ondo State and, in order to achieve that, we require to create synergy with the right people, and Chief Olusola Oke has been seen to be a stature politician; he has been steadfast and consistent."

“As someone that has a passion for the state and, like most of us, his vision aligns with our mission. In order to make the work easy, we have decided to come together, pull a strong force to deliver Ondo State,” he added.

The businessman cum politician expressed that his decision to step down was rooted in his belief that Oke's governorship aspiration had received divine endorsement. “I am happy to associate with Chief Olusola Oke. All our structures globally and supporters have decided to join him. This is because it is a God-ordained project,” Oritedi affirmed.
