Visitors and celebrities like Tonto Dikeh, Chika Ike who love to spend their birthdays at orphanages have been banned from taking pictures with the children at any visit to all orphanage homes in the country.
In a newsletter sent to orphanages in the country, the Coalition of orphanages and children’s homes in Nigeria (COCHIN) said the photos taken by visitors are usually shared online to the “embarrassment and stigmatization of the children”.
The Coalition warned that any orphanage that allows visitors to take photos with the kids will be fined 50,000 Naira.
The action has since garnered mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.
One Seyi wrote “many won't be going any more with cartoons of indomie since they can’t take pictures”

One Taiwo wrote “Bad one!!!. You're scared of showing the media the place of these young ones. If you take proper care of them, you’ll be happy to show their pics to the world”
One Rose wrote “Celebrities are about to stop visiting orphanages. 😂😂😂 But on a serious note, it is a welcome development, and was about time this happened. Ppl use the poor children to score cheap points.”
