[p]Nigerian hip-hop artist, Omoniyi Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, recently revealed that it took him several months to master his role in the crime thriller movie titled “Gangs of Lagos”.
In the movie, Zlatan played the role of a notorious gangster called Kash, and he mentioned that the role was challenging and required him to learn karate moves for the fight scenes.
In a recent interview with media personality, Samuel Eni, Zlatan explained that he temporarily paused his music career to focus on mastering his role in the movie. He also shared that he has always had an interest in acting and was excited when he was offered the role in the Amazon Prime movie, which premiered on 7th April 2023.
Zlatan further revealed that it was stressful to learn the Jet Li and Jackie Chan moves but he took his time and dedicated several months to mastering them. He had to pause recording music for a while, and it took about two months to round up the shooting of the movie, which was done in 2021.
