US-based Nigerian rapper, Yung6ix, has recently expressed that he gained fame before the well-known Nigerian singer, Davido.
Yung6ix took a direct shot at Davido, accusing him of neglecting to acknowledge his contribution to the rise of young talents in the Nigerian music industry.
It should be noted that Davido previously claimed that he and Wizkid were among the first young Nigerian musicians to achieve prominence. He asserted that prior to the emergence of what he referred to as "new cats," he and Wizkid laid the foundation for Afrobeat music to gain global recognition and success.
In response to Davido's statement, Yung6ix argued that it was actually himself, Wizkid, and Olamide who were the pioneers and trailblazers during that era, setting the stage for others to follow suit.
Yung6ix expressed his thoughts as follows:
"David, David. How many times have I called your name? You know I have nothing but love for you, my boy. But let's set the record straight. It was Wizkid, Olamide, and Young6ix before it was you. We were the youngins of that time. Are you trying to erase me from the legacy?"
