Pastor Robert Jr., a Nigerian man and senior prophet of Grace Confirmation Church Worldwide, has publicly expressed support for Nollywood actor Yul Edochie’s newly established ministry, True Salvation Ministry.
In a Facebook post dated Wednesday, January 24, Pastor Robert shared a soft copy of Yul Edochie’s ministry, emphasizing the belief that God can use anyone, regardless of their background. The endorsement also included a stern warning directed at those criticizing the actor-turned-pastor, cautioning them about potential consequences for their actions.
Pastor Robert went further to compare Yul Edochie to popular Nigerian televangelist Chris Okotie, placing the former above the latter in his assessment. He highlighted Chris Okotie’s marital history, which includes three marriages, all ending in divorce. The senior cleric questioned the credibility of someone holding the title of pastor despite such personal circumstances. In his words, “This Yul Edochie is even better than Chris Okotie. Chris Okotie who married three different women in different times and yet ended up divorcing all. Yet he's a pastor! Who is Yul that God can’t call?!!! Is his sin the worse sin? Or are you people just hating on him? Be careful, man is not God!”
Netizens had various reactions to the endorsement and comparison:
Melody C. Unah said, “Why is he telling us. Let him go ahead and do what he wants; we don’t care. Is he the only one to have been called by God if at all it’s true.”
Roselyn Bankong expressed gratitude, stating, “Thank you so much sir for telling them, because the hate is too much on him.”
Ijeoma Kenneth acknowledged Pastor Robert's perspective, “God bless you. Some people are questioning his discipleship, saying he needs training. What if he has gone through that but decided not to bring it on social media? God has his own way.”
