Controversial actor, Yul Edochie has criticized his brother, Lincoln Edochie, for publicly commenting on his decision to showcase his marriage on social media.
The tension arises following an interview Lincoln Edochie had with Kanayo, during which he revealed that their father had reprimanded him for displaying his second marriage to Judy on social media. Lincoln expressed his concerns about the public nature of his relationship, adding a layer of family drama to the situation.
Yul Edochie took to Instagram shortly after, calling out his brother for airing family matters in public. He expressed his dissatisfaction, arguing that it is inappropriate to speak negatively about one's family, especially on a public platform. Yul highlighted how other families, such as that of Nigerian artist Davido, maintain a united front, defending each other in public despite any personal issues they might face privately.
In his Instagram post, Yul conveyed a strong message, emphasizing that publicly criticizing family is a sign of weakness and insecurity. He cited the example of Davido and his uncle, who maintain a positive public image and only address their internal issues behind closed doors. Yul stated, "Never castigate your family in public. That’s the sign of a weak person." He urged his brother to reconsider his actions and not be influenced by external pressure or negativity from others.
He continued, "Family matters are meant to be handled within the family. Don't let people who have no idea about your family push you into airing your dirty laundry in public." Yul pointed out that trying to please everyone is a fool's errand, suggesting that such efforts could harm a person’s well-being and reputation in the long run. He encouraged Lincoln to take ownership of his choices and stand by them, without worrying about public opinion.
Yul further advised Lincoln to ignore external opinions and focus on what is truly important. "When people ask you about your family, tell them to mind their business," he stated, adding, "Great people don’t castigate their family. Small-minded people do." He concluded with a powerful reminder that, no matter the circumstances, family should remain united and strong in the face of challenges.
