Popular actor and comedian, Williams Uchemba, has penned an emotional note as he mourns the heart-wrenching loss of his mother to the cold hands of death.
Having tragically lost his mother two months ago, he took a moment to reflect on the profound impact her teachings had on his life.
He highlighted how her guidance molded him as a devout Christian and believer of Christ.
In a heartfelt eulogy dedicated to his mother, Uchemba shared that her passing is not a farewell, but rather a hope to reunite in the future.
In his own words,
“Rest well, Mum.
A few minutes before you passed, you appeared to me in my room. You were present in the room, yet the atmosphere felt like a different place, unlike anything I've seen before. You were smiling at me," he recalled.
He continued, "There were other people around you whom I didn't recognize, but they were dancing with an exuberance akin to winning the lottery. I recognized you immediately, but something was different. You looked youthful, around 27 years old, with your hair gently resting on your shoulders after being neatly brushed. I immediately implored you to return, as we had been praying for your recovery. Your response in Igbo was, 'Alaikiri’m ebe’m no, ebe’m no mara nma,' meaning, 'I like where I am, where I am is beautiful.' Shortly after, a message arrived on my phone from the hospital confirming your passing."
Following this experience, Uchemba found solace in the words of Matthew 5:4, which states,
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." He described feeling a strong sense of comfort in his heart.
The actor went on to mention 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, which states, "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope." Uchemba saw his mother's transition as a catalyst for strengthening his Christian faith, reminding him of the existence of an afterlife. He expressed his gratitude that she had reached a place that everyone aspires to reach.
Concluding his heartfelt tribute, Uchemba wrote, "You have completed your journey here, you fought the noble fight of faith, and you have achieved the eternal glory of Jesus Christ."
