Controversial Twitter personality, Daniel Regha, seems to express discontent with Afrobeat star Wizkid's recent philanthropic gesture.
Earlier today, Wizkid announced plans to distribute 100 million naira for Christmas celebrations among children, eliciting reactions from various quarters.
Taking to the microblogging platform, Daniel Regha referred to the singer's gesture as a misplaced priority, highlighting Wizkid's previous unfulfilled pledge to build schools across Africa. In Regha's opinion, while celebrating with kids for the festive season is acceptable, allocating a whopping N100 million might not be the most strategic move.
According to Regha, the substantial amount should be redirected towards a long-term project, such as building a free school to provide education for underprivileged children. In his words: "Wizkid promising to gift children N100 million for Christmas is a misplaced priority, since he's yet to fulfill his old pledge of building schools across Africa. If he wishes to celebrate with kids this festive season, that's OK, but not with N100 million. That money should be channeled into a long-term project, like building a free school to give education to poor children. No offense."
