Nigerian hip-hop artist, Reminisce, recently opened up about the reasons behind his conscious decision to take a step back from the music industry. In an interview with Zero Conditions, the artist revealed that he prioritized his family over his career.
Reminisce, who made a highly-anticipated comeback after a seven-year hiatus with the release of his album "ATSG, Vol. 1," shared that his career had been consuming all his time. Despite living with his children, he hardly had the opportunity to see or notice changes in his own home.
He decided to put his kids first, taking a break from his art so that he wouldn't miss out on their lives. He expressed this sentiment by saying:
“There were times I didn't see my kids for 4 days, even though we lived together. When I got back, they were in school…
“Let me share this story with you. A few years back, my wife completely redecorated our house."
“It was during a period when I was releasing albums annually and constantly touring. The redecoration of my home took almost two years, and I didn't even notice it."
“That was the moment I realized that I needed to step back and be with my family. Family comes before everything else."
